The Winchester Model 1897 is a pump action shotgun with an external hammer and tube magazine.  It was offered in 12 and 16 gauge, solid, frame, or takedown.  Numerous barrel lengths are offered.  It was the first sucessful pump-action shotgun.  Over 1,000,000 were made.  The were produced from 1897-1957.  The Trench Gun was used by the US Army, US Marine Corps, and the US Navy.  It is a bigger and tougher version of the Winchester 1893.  The Trench Gun was good in something that is pretty obvious.  It was used in Trench warfare to take out enemys at close range.  The only problem with the Trench Gun is that it has a lot of kick so only strong soldiers were able to operate it. 

The Remington Model 870 is a U.S.-made pump-action shotgun manufactured by Remingtion Arms Company, Inc. It is widely used by the public for target shooting, hunting, and self-defense. It is also commonly used by law enforcement and the military, worldwide, and many countries have the Remington 870 in use by both their law enforcement as well as their armed forces.
